Bishop Daniel Robertson, Jr. is the Senior Pastor of Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries in Richmond, Virginia. His visionary leadership has taken the congregation from a membership of 25 to well over 7,000 in a span of 14 years. With over 21 years in ministry, he is often described as a coach, motivational speaker, teacher and a leader among leaders.
A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Bishop Robertson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from James Madison University, a second bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia and a master’s of divinity from Virginia Union University. While Bishop Robertson remains a registered pharmacist, he answered the call of the Lord to leave his secular job and commit to full-time ministry in the early 90’s.
In addition to his assignment as a pastor, leader, and innovator, Bishop Robertson is an accomplished writer and author of four bestselling books on leadership. The first, “Plug In”, is a practical guide for pastors, church leaders and businesses. "Plug” In reveals the core principles for creating and maintaining a successful team. “Coaching: A Kingdom Agenda,” is an excellent resource for developing leaders and building a strong organization. His third book, Plug In II, is a continuation of the blessings of divine connection with actual stories of how this principle manifested in the life of Bishop Robertson as well as the ministry at large. “Fit for a King” recognizes the critical role of excellence and uses proven principles to equip your ministry to honor God through exceptional ministry.
With a call on his life to the nations, Bishop Robertson has a passion for rescuing souls from darkness to the Kingdom of God. His Balm in Gilead television and radio broadcast reaches thousands throughout the southeastern region of Virginia. In addition to consistently leading Mt. Gilead in local community outreaches he also answered the call of the Great Commission to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Bishop Robertson actively ministers through overseas missions with Shalom Outreach Ministry Inc. and Know the Truth Ministries, Inc.. He has ministered the Gospel in several countries including Argentina, Uganda, Brazil, Kenya, South Africa, Haiti, and Australia.
With wisdom far exceeding his age, Bishop Robertson credits his many accomplishments to walking with the Ancient of Days and obeying His voice. As a spiritual father to many, he also leads by example in his submission to his spiritual fathers, Dr. Leroy Thompson Sr. and Dr. David C. Forbes, Jr. He also submitted to the late Bishop Antonio D. Thomas who was also his spiritual father until his passing.
A much sought after speaker, Bishop Robertson is known for his relevant and practical teaching with a passion for empowering God’s people to dominate by applying the Biblical principles of holiness, excellence, faith and prosperity. Bishop Robertson and his wife Co-Pastor Elena Robertson, are the blessed parents of four children: Daniel III, Charity Joy, David Jeremiah, and Moriah Joyelle.
